Senior Formulation Scientist - Oral Solids

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Formulation Scientist with expertise in oral solid dosage forms to join their innovative research and development team, operating entirely remotely. This pivotal role will involve the design, development, and optimization of novel oral solid drug formulations, from early-stage pre-formulation studies through to the development of robust manufacturing processes. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical science and drug delivery technologies to create effective and stable formulations, directly contributing to the advancement of our client's product pipeline and impacting patient access to essential medications. This remote position offers significant autonomy and the chance to influence drug product development strategies from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and excipients.
• Develop and optimize oral solid dosage formulations (e.g., tablets, capsules) using various technologies.
• Conduct stability studies and analyze data to ensure product quality and shelf-life.
• Scale-up laboratory formulations to pilot and commercial manufacturing processes, collaborating with manufacturing teams.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and scientific literature related to drug formulation and delivery in Southampton .

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development , with a strong focus on oral solid dosage forms.
• Hands-on experience with formulation development techniques, including granulation, compression, coating, and powder blending.
• Proficiency in understanding regulatory requirements for drug product development and lifecycle management.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills, particularly in a remote work environment.
