About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Formulation Scientist to join their innovative product development team in Glasgow . You will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of novel pharmaceutical formulations for a range of therapeutic agents. This role involves leading formulation projects from concept to pre-clinical development, collaborating closely with analytical, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs departments. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of advanced drug delivery systems and to play a key role in advancing our client's pipeline of next-generation therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative drug formulations (e.g., oral, injectable, topical) to enhance drug delivery and therapeutic efficacy.
- Perform characterization studies on prototype formulations to assess stability, dissolution, and other critical quality attributes.
- Oversee formulation development activities, manage project timelines, and troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Collaborate with analytical teams to develop and validate suitable analytical methods for formulation assessment.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submission documents, including Investigational New Drug (IND) applications.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- Proven expertise in various dosage forms and drug delivery technologies.
- Strong understanding of pre-formulation, excipient compatibility, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
