Senior Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Formulation Scientist to join their innovative product development team in Cambridge . This role is central to the development of novel dosage forms for pharmaceutical products, encompassing pre-formulation studies, formulation design, and process development. You will collaborate closely with discovery, analytical, and manufacturing teams to translate drug candidates into viable, stable, and effective drug products. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop stable and effective pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., oral solid dose, injectables) for various drug candidates.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to understand the physicochemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
• Optimize formulation composition and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and performance.
• Perform stability studies and interpret data to determine shelf-life and storage conditions.
• Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues, proposing and implementing solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation for regulatory submissions, and present findings to project teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Expertise in various dosage forms and formulation technologies.
• Strong understanding of pre-formulation, drug delivery systems, and analytical techniques relevant to formulation development.
• Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical product development.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
