About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Formulation Scientist to join their innovative Research and Development department in Reading . This role is pivotal in the development of novel drug delivery systems and the optimization of existing formulations to enhance product performance and patient compliance. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and documenting formulation development studies, ensuring robust and scalable formulations for clinical trials and commercialization. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge pharmaceutical development within a state-of-the-art facility in Reading , working on exciting new therapeutic modalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop stable, effective, and patient-friendly pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topical).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including API characterization, solubility, and stability assessments.
- Utilize various formulation technologies and excipients to achieve desired drug release profiles and bioavailability.
- Plan and execute formulation development studies, manufacturing trials, and stability testing programs.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, technical documentation, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Proven track record in developing various dosage forms and understanding of drug delivery principles.
- Experience with analytical techniques used in formulation characterization and stability testing.
- Strong understanding of GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements relevant to formulation development in Reading .
