Senior Game Animator (Environment & Props)

About the Role

Our client, a highly respected game development studio based in Stoke-on-Trent , is searching for an accomplished Senior Game Animator specializing in environments and props. You will be responsible for bringing virtual worlds to life by creating high-quality animations for environmental elements, interactive objects, and atmospheric effects. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of animation principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the art and design teams. This fully remote position allows talented animators from anywhere to contribute to our exciting projects, fostering a flexible and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic and stylized animations for game environments, including foliage, physics-based elements, and dynamic systems.
• Animate props, interactive objects, and set dressing to enhance player immersion and gameplay.
• Work closely with level designers and artists to ensure animations integrate seamlessly with the game world.
• Optimize animations for performance across various target platforms.
• Contribute to establishing animation pipelines and best practices for environment and prop animation.
• Implement animations within the game engine (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Game Animator , with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in environment and prop animation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight, and appeal.
• Experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine .
• Ability to create both keyframe and motion-capture-based animations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative team setting.
