About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Game Designer specializing in systems to join their vibrant studio in Belfast . You will be responsible for designing, documenting, and iterating on the core gameplay systems that define the player experience. Key Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and document complex game systems, including combat, progression, economy, and AI.
• Collaborate with engineers and artists to ensure the feasibility and quality implementation of designed systems.
• Iterate on systems based on playtesting feedback, data analysis, and team input.
• Balance game mechanics to ensure a fair, challenging, and rewarding player experience.
• Create clear and concise design documents, flowcharts, and spreadsheets to communicate system designs effectively.
• Contribute to the overall game vision and vision documents, ensuring system design aligns with project goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in game design , with a focus on system design for shipped titles.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing and balancing complex game systems.
• Proficiency in creating detailed design documentation, flowcharts, and spreadsheets.
• Understanding of game development pipelines and the interplay between design, art, and engineering.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively within a team environment in Belfast .
