About the Role
Our client, a renowned publisher and developer of engaging digital experiences, is seeking a creative and strategic Senior Game Designer to join their talented team in Leeds . This role is central to shaping the player experience, from conceptualization through to post-launch support. You will be responsible for designing core gameplay mechanics, systems, and content that are innovative, fun, and aligned with project goals. We are looking for an individual with a deep passion for games, a proven ability to design compelling player experiences, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities
- Design, document, and prototype core gameplay mechanics, systems, and player progression loops.
- Collaborate with art, programming, and production teams to ensure cohesive game vision and implementation.
- Create detailed design specifications for features, levels, and user interfaces.
- Balance game systems and mechanics to ensure fair and engaging gameplay experiences.
- Playtest and iterate on designs based on feedback from team members and target audiences.
- Contribute to the overall narrative and world-building of the game.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in game design , with a strong portfolio showcasing shipped titles.
- Proven ability to design and document complex game systems and mechanics.
- Proficiency with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of player psychology, user experience (UX), and game balance principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly.
- Experience with scripting languages or visual scripting tools is a plus.
