About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Game Environment Artist to join their innovative game development studio in Glasgow . You will be responsible for creating immersive, visually stunning, and technically sound game environments that bring virtual worlds to life. Working within a talented art team, you will contribute to the overall artistic vision and quality of the game, ensuring that environments are not only beautiful but also functional and engaging for players. This role is central to crafting the player's experience within the game's universe in Scotland .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, model, and texture high-quality 3D environments, props, and architectural elements for video games.
• Collaborate with game designers and level artists to create environments that support gameplay mechanics and narrative.
• Ensure that all environment assets are optimized for performance across target platforms, adhering to technical budgets.
• Develop and maintain a consistent art style and quality bar across all environmental assets.
• Create detailed documentation, style guides, and reference materials for environment art production.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior environment artists within the Glasgow studio.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in 3D environment art for video games.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional environmental art skills, including modeling, texturing, and lighting.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender) and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Expertise in texturing software such as Substance Painter and Designer.
• Excellent understanding of composition, color theory, and architectural design principles.
