About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Game Writer to join their narrative team in Southampton . You will be responsible for crafting compelling stories, characters, and dialogue that immerse players in richly imagined worlds within the Arts & Entertainment sector. This role requires a deep understanding of narrative design principles, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with game designers, artists, and other stakeholders to weave narrative seamlessly into gameplay. Key Responsibilities

• Write engaging and coherent game narratives, including plot outlines, character backstories, dialogue, and in-game text.
• Collaborate with game designers to integrate narrative elements smoothly into gameplay mechanics and player progression.
• Develop detailed lore bibles and style guides to ensure consistency in world-building and character development.
• Edit and refine written content to meet quality standards, ensuring clarity, tone, and voice are appropriate for the target audience.
• Work closely with voice actors and audio teams to ensure dialogue is delivered effectively and enhances the overall player experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Game Writer or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing compelling narrative work.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong command of grammar and storytelling techniques.
• Familiarity with narrative design principles and experience writing for interactive media.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and incorporate feedback constructively.
• Understanding of the Arts & Entertainment landscape and player expectations for narrative depth.
