About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and imaginative Senior Game Writer to join their award-winning development studio in Leeds . You will collaborate closely with game designers, narrative directors, and artists to build immersive worlds and unforgettable characters. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and write engaging storylines, character backstories, dialogue, and in-game text for video games.
• Collaborate with game designers to integrate narrative elements seamlessly into gameplay mechanics and systems.
• Create and maintain detailed narrative design documents , lore bibles, and style guides.
• Work closely with voice actors and the audio team to ensure dialogue is delivered effectively.
• Participate in playtesting and iteration cycles, incorporating feedback to refine the narrative experience.
• Contribute to world-building and ensuring consistency across all narrative elements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Game Writer or similar role in the video game industry, with a strong portfolio of narrative work.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a deep understanding of narrative structure and character development.
• Familiarity with game development processes and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, scripting languages).
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team environment.
• Strong understanding of different game genres and their narrative conventions.
• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, English, Game Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
