Senior Geologist - Exploration and Resource Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Geologist to join their team in Reading , focusing on exploration and accurate resource estimation for various mining projects. You will be instrumental in identifying new mineral deposits, planning and executing exploration programs, and providing robust geological models to support mine development. This role requires a strong analytical mind, field experience, and the ability to translate geological data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making, operating from a key business hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and execute geological exploration programs, including drilling campaigns.
• Analyze geological data from core logging, assay results, and geophysical surveys.
• Develop detailed 3D geological models and perform resource estimations using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers to optimize resource utilization and mine design.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or an equivalent Earth Science qualification.
• At least 7 years of experience in mineral exploration and resource geology within the mining sector .
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan) and database management.
• Strong understanding of various geological settings and deposit types.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
