About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Senior Geologist specializing in resource estimation to join their team in Plymouth . This role is vital for accurately assessing and quantifying mineral and energy resources. You will be responsible for integrating geological data, performing detailed analyses, and applying industry-standard methodologies to determine resource volumes and grades. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to critical exploration and development projects, working closely with geophysicists, engineers, and management in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute geological models for resource estimation using diverse datasets, including core samples, well logs, and geophysical surveys.
- Apply geostatistical techniques and software to calculate resource volumes, grades, and confidence levels.
- Conduct geological mapping, sample collection, and field assessments as required.
- Interpret geological data to understand structural controls, lithology, and mineralization.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports and resource statements compliant with relevant industry codes (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
- Collaborate with mining engineers and metallurgists to provide geological input for mine planning and operations.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related earth science field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in applied geology , with a strong emphasis on resource estimation .
- Proficiency with geological modeling and geostatistics software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine).
- Solid understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and mineral deposit types.
- Experience in data quality control and validation for geological databases.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
