Senior Geologist - Exploration (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Geologist to join their remote exploration team, contributing to their global energy asset portfolio. This position focuses on detailed geological analysis, prospect evaluation, and basin modeling to identify and de-risk new exploration opportunities. You will work collaboratively with a dispersed team of geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and management, leveraging advanced digital tools and datasets. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping, core analysis, and well log interpretation to define subsurface geological models.
• Evaluate petroleum systems, de-risk exploration prospects, and contribute to portfolio management.
• Utilize geological software for basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, and structural modeling.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration ventures.
• Collaborate effectively with geophysicists, geochemists, and reservoir engineers in a virtual setting.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in exploration geology, with a proven track record in prospect identification.
• Expertise in geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Roxar RMS, ArcGIS) and data interpretation techniques.
• Strong understanding of sedimentary basins, depositional environments, and structural controls on hydrocarbon systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suited for remote collaboration.
