Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geologist to lead exploration initiatives within their diverse mining operations based in Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves identifying and assessing new mineral deposits, contributing significantly to the company's future resource acquisition and development strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geological surveys, including mapping, sampling, and core logging, to identify and evaluate potential mineral resources.
• Utilize advanced geological modelling software to interpret subsurface data and generate 3D geological models for exploration targets.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and geochemists to integrate diverse datasets and refine exploration strategies.
• Conduct detailed geochemical analysis of rock and soil samples to identify mineralization trends and anomalies.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and resource estimates for management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance throughout the exploration lifecycle.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a strong focus on orebody modelling and resource estimation.
• Proven track record in identifying and advancing new mineral prospects from greenfield to brownfield stages.
• Proficiency in geological software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, or ArcGIS.
• Excellent understanding of structural geology, petrology, and sedimentology relevant to mineral deposit types.
