Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to lead critical exploration initiatives within their established Aberdeen operations. You will play a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating new mineral resources, contributing directly to the company's long-term strategic growth and profitability. This position requires a deep understanding of geological principles, advanced analytical skills, and a proven track record in mineral exploration project management. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team focused on sustainable and responsible resource development in the challenging North Sea environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage geological exploration programs, including field surveys, core logging, and sample analysis.
• Interpret complex geological data, including seismic, well logs, and geochemical assays, to define resource potential.
• Develop detailed geological models and resource estimations using industry-standard software.
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare comprehensive technical reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and mining engineers to integrate diverse datasets for comprehensive project evaluation.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance to the exploration team.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a strong focus on resource estimation and geological modeling.
• Proficiency in geological software such as Leapfrog, ArcGIS, or similar modelling tools.
• Demonstrated experience in field exploration, including core drilling programs and structural mapping.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to undertake fieldwork in various conditions.
