Senior Geologist - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geologist to join their exploration team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations potentially linked to Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is pivotal in identifying and evaluating prospective hydrocarbon resources through detailed geological analysis and interpretation of subsurface data. You will play a key part in shaping exploration strategies and contributing to the overall success of the company's upstream activities. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to identify and assess hydrocarbon plays.
• Develop and refine geological models for exploration and appraisal prospects.
• Utilize advanced software for subsurface mapping, seismic interpretation, and volumetric calculations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists and reservoir engineers, in a virtual environment.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, prospect evaluations, and presentations for management review.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in geological exploration and interpretation.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in geological exploration, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proficiency with geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and seismic interpretation tools.
• Strong understanding of basin analysis, structural geology, and sedimentology.
• Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team setting.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
