Senior Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Geologist to join their operations based in Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves leading geological surveys, resource analysis, and exploration initiatives crucial for the company's success in the demanding mining sector. You will be instrumental in identifying new mineral deposits, assessing their viability, and developing strategic plans for extraction, contributing directly to the company's growth and sustainability efforts in a challenging but rewarding field.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geological surveys and site assessments to identify potential mineral resources.
• Analyze geological data, including core samples and geophysical surveys, to determine deposit quality and extent.
• Develop and implement exploration strategies and drilling programs to validate resource potential.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and feasibility studies for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to plan and optimize extraction processes.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance and training.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in geological exploration and resource evaluation within the mining industry .
• Proficiency in geological software packages (e.g., ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Surpac) and data analysis techniques.
• Strong understanding of mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, and deposit modeling.
• Proven experience in managing exploration projects and leading field teams in diverse terrains.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
