Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role is pivotal in assessing ground conditions and designing foundations for a variety of infrastructure projects, including those within the renewable energy sector . You will be responsible for planning and overseeing site investigations, conducting detailed analyses, and developing robust foundation designs that ensure the stability and longevity of our client's projects. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and interpret ground investigations , including desk studies, site reconnaissance, and in-situ/laboratory testing.
• Perform detailed geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement calculations.
• Design foundations for a range of structures, such as wind turbines, offshore platforms, and onshore facilities.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, specifications, and design drawings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical engineering , with a focus on foundation design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio suite).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
• Experience in managing site investigations and interpreting diverse ground investigation data.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
