Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to bolster their technical expertise in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role involves undertaking detailed geotechnical investigations, analyses, and designs for a wide range of infrastructure and construction projects. You will be responsible for interpreting site data, developing foundation designs, and providing expert advice on ground-related risks. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute geotechnical site investigations, including supervision of site works and laboratory testing.
• Perform detailed geotechnical analysis for foundations, slopes, earthworks, and retaining structures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, interpret ground conditions, and provide design recommendations.
• Develop foundation designs, ground improvement strategies, and slope stability solutions.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and construction teams to provide expert geotechnical advice and support.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK geotechnical standards, codes of practice, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages for analysis and modeling (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio suite).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and geological principles.
• Experience in managing and interpreting site investigation data and laboratory test results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly, especially for projects in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire .
