About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geotechnical investigations , including site assessments, soil testing, and rock mechanics analysis for mining operations.
• Develop detailed geotechnical designs for mine infrastructure, including foundations, slopes, tunnels, and waste rock disposal facilities.
• Manage and mentor junior geotechnical engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mining engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists, to integrate geotechnical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations within the mining industry .

Requirements

• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering , with a significant focus on the mining sector .
• Proven expertise in geological modeling software, finite element analysis (FEA), and geotechnical design tools.
• Strong understanding of ground support design, slope stability analysis, and seismic hazard assessment in mining contexts.
• Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
