Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team in London . Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations , including site reconnaissance, borehole logging, and in-situ testing.
• Develop and implement ground investigation strategies and interpret complex soil and rock mechanics data.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports , design recommendations, and risk assessments for mining and construction projects.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site investigation teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project delivery and compliance.
• Oversee the design of deep foundations, slope stability analysis, and earth retention systems.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering , with a significant focus on the mining sector.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from inception through to completion.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis and modeling (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Excellent understanding of UK geology, relevant British Standards, and Eurocodes.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or eligibility is highly desirable.
