About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their innovative team, operating under a fully remote model. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, stability, and efficiency of complex underground and surface operations, leveraging your deep understanding of soil mechanics and rock mechanics. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive geotechnical investigations, including site assessments, soil sampling, and laboratory testing interpretation.
- Develop detailed geotechnical designs and reports for mining infrastructure, tunnels, slopes, and foundations.
- Perform advanced numerical modeling and analysis for soil-structure interaction and ground stability issues.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff remotely.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, geologists, and construction teams through virtual meetings and shared digital workspaces.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and health and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on mining projects .
- Proficiency in industry-standard geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, GeoStudio).
- Proven experience in seismic analysis, slope stability assessment, and foundation design.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and virtual collaboration skills are essential for this remote role.
