About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and interpretation of geotechnical investigations , including site characterisation, soil and rock mechanics analysis, and foundation design.
• Develop detailed geotechnical designs for onshore and offshore structures, pipelines, and renewable energy projects.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, ensuring profitable project delivery.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports , specifications, and tender documents for clients and regulatory bodies.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, environmental consultants, and construction personnel, to ensure integrated project solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a significant portion focused on the offshore energy sector .
• Proven experience in numerical modelling and advanced analysis techniques (e.g., FEA for soil-structure interaction).
• Proficiency in relevant software packages such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Strong understanding of relevant UK and international codes, standards, and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills.
