About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves leading complex ground investigation projects, analyzing soil and rock mechanics, and providing expert advice on foundation design and earthworks for various infrastructure and energy sector projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and stability of structures, contributing directly to the successful delivery of high-profile developments within the region and beyond, fostering a collaborative environment focused on technical excellence and innovation in geotechnical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations , including site reconnaissance, borehole drilling, and in-situ testing programs.
- Perform detailed analysis of soil and rock properties, slope stability, and foundation design for diverse projects.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports , including ground conditions, design recommendations, and risk assessments.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site investigation teams.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met effectively.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in geotechnical engineering , with a proven track record in project management.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis and design (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
- Strong understanding of relevant UK and international geotechnical standards and codes of practice.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
