Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their globally recognized engineering consultancy. This fully remote position will allow you to leverage your expertise to manage and deliver complex geotechnical investigations and designs for a diverse range of projects across the UK and internationally. You will play a key role in advising clients and project teams on soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including site characterization, testing, and data analysis.
• Develop detailed foundation designs, retaining wall solutions, and ground improvement strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, specifications, and risk assessments.
• Provide expert technical advice to clients, project managers, and design teams on complex geotechnical challenges.
• Oversee the work of junior engineers and technicians, providing mentorship and quality control.
• Ensure all geotechnical designs and recommendations comply with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering , Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant professional experience (e.g., 7+ years) in geotechnical engineering, with a strong track record of project delivery.
• Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and ground characterization techniques.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar finite element analysis tools.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and client liaison skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects effectively in a remote setting.
