About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their prominent engineering consultancy in the historic city of Oxford . This role involves providing expert technical leadership and managing complex geotechnical projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for undertaking detailed analysis, design, and overseeing site investigations for a variety of construction and infrastructure developments within Oxfordshire . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of ground investigations, including site reconnaissance, intrusive surveys, and laboratory testing supervision.
- Perform detailed geotechnical analyses, including foundation design, slope stability assessment, and seismic analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical design reports, specifications, and method statements for construction.
- Manage project resources, timelines, and budgets, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Act as a key technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Mentor and develop junior geotechnical engineers and technicians within the team.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, with a Master's degree being advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in geotechnical engineering practice.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively pursuing it (e.g., MICE, CGeol).
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar finite element analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong report writing capabilities.
