Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Brighton . This role focuses on providing expert geotechnical advice and design solutions for a diverse range of projects, including building foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks. You will play a key role in managing geotechnical investigations, interpreting data, and developing practical, cost-effective engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and undertake geotechnical investigations, including site characterization and ground condition assessments.
• Perform detailed geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and other earth structures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, calculations, and drawings for planning and construction.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams to provide technical support and resolve geotechnical issues.
• Oversee site supervision and quality assurance for geotechnical aspects of construction projects.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering their technical development and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it with a relevant professional body.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering design and site investigation.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (e.g., GeoStudio, Plaxis, WALLAP).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
