About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and development of their prestigious golf course located in London . This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of course conditioning, agronomy, and groundskeeping to ensure an exceptional playing experience for members and visitors. You will lead a team of dedicated grounds staff, implement innovative turf management practices, and uphold the highest standards of course presentation, contributing to the club's reputation for excellence and maintaining a world-class golfing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive course maintenance plans , including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Manage daily operations of turfgrass care, irrigation systems, pest and disease control, and bunker maintenance.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of groundskeepers and horticulturalists, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure the safe operation of all machinery.
- Implement sustainable agronomic practices to enhance turf health and environmental stewardship.
- Collaborate with club management and committees on course improvement projects and long-term strategic planning.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as an Assistant or Head Superintendent at a reputable golf facility.
- Proven expertise in turfgrass management , agronomy, and irrigation systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Knowledge of budget management, equipment purchasing, and fleet maintenance.
- Relevant qualifications in Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field are essential.
