Senior Grid Integration Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Grid Integration Engineer to join their forward-thinking team in Brighton . This role is essential for ensuring the stable and efficient integration of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, into the national grid. You will be responsible for technical analysis, planning, and developing solutions to manage grid stability, power quality, and connection processes. This is a critical position within the energy infrastructure sector, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge projects that shape the future of sustainable power distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze grid connection requirements and develop technical solutions for integrating large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, stability, and harmonic analysis, using industry-standard software.
• Develop and implement grid connection agreements and ensure compliance with grid codes and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with transmission system operators (TSOs) and distribution network operators (DSOs) on grid impact assessments and connection applications.
• Provide expert advice on grid stability, power quality issues, and strategies for mitigating potential grid disturbances.
• Contribute to the development of protection schemes and control strategies for renewable energy assets to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems or Grid Integration.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in grid integration , power system planning, or renewable energy project development.
• In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, grid codes, and regulatory frameworks in the UK or equivalent.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software such as PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, battery storage) and their impact on grid stability.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
