About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grid Integration Specialist to join their expanding team in Edinburgh . This hybrid role is crucial for ensuring the seamless and stable integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid. You will be at the forefront of technical analysis, policy development, and project planning, working to overcome the challenges of modernizing the energy infrastructure . Your expertise will be vital in connecting new renewable generation assets, such as wind and solar farms, to the grid efficiently and reliably, contributing to Scotland's ambitious clean energy targets and fostering innovation in grid management.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess the impact of new renewable energy projects on grid stability and capacity.
• Develop technical requirements and specifications for grid connection agreements and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate with network operators, generators, and regulatory bodies to facilitate the integration of renewable assets.
• Provide expert advice on grid codes, standards, and best practices for renewable energy integration .
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical due diligence for grid connection projects.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in grid modernization and energy storage solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in power systems engineering with a focus on grid integration of renewables.
• In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, load flow, short-circuit studies, and transient stability.
• Familiarity with grid codes and regulatory frameworks in the UK and Europe.
• Experience with power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Edinburgh .
