Senior Grid Integration Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grid Integration Specialist to join their innovative energy solutions team in Leeds . This role is critical in ensuring the seamless and stable integration of new energy technologies, including renewables and battery storage, into the existing power grid. You will be at the forefront of developing strategies and technical solutions to address complex grid challenges, working closely with network operators and technology providers. The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of power systems and a forward-thinking approach to grid modernization, contributing to a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the impact of renewable energy sources and other distributed generation on grid stability and performance.
• Develop technical specifications and requirements for grid connection of new assets.
• Collaborate with Transmission and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs/TOs) to facilitate grid connection applications and approvals.
• Design and implement control strategies and protection schemes for grid-connected systems.
• Provide expert advice on grid codes, standards, and regulatory requirements related to grid integration .
• Contribute to research and development of innovative solutions for future grid challenges.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a specialization in power systems.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on grid connection and integration.
• Strong knowledge of power system dynamics, stability analysis, and fault studies.
• Familiarity with grid codes and regulatory frameworks in the UK or similar markets.
• Experience with simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team.
