Senior Grid Integration Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Grid Integration Specialist to join their forward-thinking team in Brighton . This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and stable integration of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, into the national electricity grid. You will provide expert technical guidance, develop strategies, and collaborate with various stakeholders to overcome complex grid challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze grid constraints and develop technical solutions for integrating variable renewable energy generation.
• Develop and review grid connection studies, including short-circuit analysis, load flow, and stability studies.
• Collaborate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) on grid connection applications and requirements.
• Provide expert advice on grid codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks affecting renewable energy integration .
• Develop and implement strategies for managing grid stability and power quality with high penetrations of renewables.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the knowledge base on grid integration best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with a specialization in power systems.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on grid integration of renewable energy.
• In-depth knowledge of grid codes, network studies, and power system stability principles.
• Experience with simulation software such as PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, or similar.
• Strong understanding of the UK electricity market and regulatory landscape.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
