Senior HGV Driver - Regional Haulage

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Senior HGV Driver to manage regional haulage operations based out of Stoke-on-Trent . This role requires a professional driver with extensive experience operating large goods vehicles, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various regions. You will be responsible for adherence to all driving regulations, vehicle maintenance checks, and effective communication with the logistics team. This position is ideal for an experienced driver who values reliability, safety, and efficient logistical execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV vehicle for regional deliveries and collections, ensuring the safe and timely transport of goods.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects promptly.
• Adhere strictly to all tachograph regulations and working time directives.
• Maintain effective communication with dispatch and logistics coordinators regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
• Ensure goods are loaded and unloaded safely and securely, complying with cargo securement regulations.
• Represent the company professionally at all times, delivering excellent customer service at delivery points.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) license with an excellent driving record.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional HGV driving experience.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.
• Experience with regional or national haulage routes.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on the road.
• Understanding of vehicle safety and cargo securement best practices.
