About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior HR Advisor with a specialisation in Employee Relations to join their team in Oxford . This critical role will lead on complex ER cases, provide expert advice and support to managers, and ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation across the organisation. You will play a key role in promoting fair and consistent HR practices, developing ER policies, and fostering a positive employee relations climate. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ER principles, strong investigative skills, and a calm, assured approach to managing sensitive issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability issues in Oxford .
- Provide expert advice and coaching to line managers on all aspects of employee relations and HR best practice.
- Develop, review, and implement ER policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
- Conduct thorough investigations into ER issues, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Support managers in managing performance and absence, providing guidance and appropriate interventions.
- Contribute to the development of training programmes for managers on employee relations topics.
Requirements
- Significant experience as an HR Advisor or ER Specialist, with a strong focus on employee relations.
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment law, particularly concerning disciplinary, grievance, and redundancy procedures.
- Proven experience in conducting complex investigations and managing ER casework.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a demanding caseload with accuracy and sensitivity.
