About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior HSE Advisor to bolster their Health, Safety, and Environment team in Edinburgh . This role is fundamental in ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental protection across operational sites. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE policies, conducting audits, providing training, and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HSE legislation and best practices within the energy sector, combined with excellent communication and influencing skills. This is a critical position for a dedicated HSE professional committed to maintaining a safe and sustainable working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and HSE audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on HSE matters to management and operational teams.
- Maintain HSE records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Relevant HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably within the energy industry .
- In-depth knowledge of UK HSE legislation and standards.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safe systems of work.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
