Senior HSE Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior HSE Engineer to join their operational team in Brighton , focusing on ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment within the Oil & Gas industry . This role is critical in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust HSE policies and procedures to safeguard personnel, assets, and the environment. You will conduct risk assessments, manage compliance, and promote a strong safety culture across all operations. This is a vital position for an individual passionate about creating and sustaining a safe working environment in a demanding industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems and procedures.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and HAZOP studies.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to site personnel and management.
• Monitor environmental performance and manage waste disposal and pollution prevention initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; relevant HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HSE roles, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management techniques, and safety protocols.
• Experience in conducting HSE audits and inspections.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication, influencing, and leadership skills to promote a safety-first culture.
