About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of complex industrial automation solutions, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and robotics.
• Oversee the implementation and commissioning of new automation projects, ensuring successful integration with existing infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including control system architecture, programming standards, and operating procedures.
• Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for automated systems, resolving issues remotely or coordinating on-site support when necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related automation field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial automation engineering .
• Expertise in programming and configuring PLCs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Logix), HMIs, and industrial robots.
• Strong understanding of industrial networks, safety standards, and cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems.
• Proven ability to manage complex automation projects and lead technical teams remotely.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, vital for a remote role supporting Sheffield .
