About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Lean principles to join their manufacturing facility in Plymouth . This role is central to driving operational excellence by identifying and eliminating waste, improving process flow, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will lead complex projects, mentor engineering staff, and work collaboratively with various departments to implement best practices that enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing strategies and initiatives across the site.
- Conduct value stream mapping, identify waste, and implement solutions to improve process flow and efficiency.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions on Lean principles for all levels of staff.
- Analyse production data to identify improvement opportunities and track the effectiveness of Lean initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure integrated process improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff in the application of Lean tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing.
- Proven experience implementing Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, SMED, and Just-In-Time (JIT).
- Experience in process optimization and project management in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and change management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail in Plymouth operations.
