Senior Industrial Engineer - Operations Excellence

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Industrial Engineer to lead their Operations Excellence initiatives in Sheffield . This role is fundamental in driving continuous improvement, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of high performance across the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced operational strategies, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating with senior leadership to achieve key business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles and a proven ability to lead transformative change in complex manufacturing and operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of operations excellence strategies for facilities in and around Sheffield .
• Champion and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt required) methodologies across all operational areas.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes, supply chains, and operational workflows for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and deploy performance management systems and key metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop a team of industrial engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical expertise.
• Conduct detailed process audits and identify root causes of operational issues, implementing sustainable solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on operations excellence and continuous improvement.
• Proven experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt with a track record of delivering significant quantifiable results.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and other operational improvement tools.
• Strong leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with advanced data analytics, simulation modeling, and ERP/MES systems.
