Senior Industrial Engineer - Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to drive operational excellence within their facility in Edinburgh . This role is critical for analyzing complex manufacturing and operational processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing strategic solutions to boost productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead key improvement projects and mentor junior engineers, contributing to a culture of continuous advancement. The position operates on a hybrid basis, blending essential on-site engagement with the benefits of remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of operational improvements across manufacturing and production lines.
• Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance quality.
• Develop and maintain process documentation , standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics.
• Conduct detailed time studies , workflow analysis, and capacity planning to optimize resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Mentor and guide junior industrial engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with a strong focus on operations and process improvement.
• Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly desirable).
• Proficiency in simulation software , statistical analysis tools, and project management software.
• Proven leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
