About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join their operations team based in Sunderland . This is a critical, on-site role focused on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving operational efficiency, and driving cost reductions within their production facilities. You will take a lead in analyzing complex systems, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Lean Manufacturing and process optimization, contributing significantly to the company's ongoing success and commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced industrial engineering solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Analyze production data, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and develop strategic action plans for improvement.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles, including value stream mapping, 5S, and Kaizen events.
- Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on best practices in industrial engineering and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with Black Belt certification being a significant asset.
- Proficiency in process simulation software, CAD, and advanced data analysis tools.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
