Senior Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Industrial Engineer to join their established operations in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role is integral to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of their manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analyzing current production systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that drive productivity, reduce waste, and ensure high-quality output. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes, workflows, and plant layouts to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings.
• Design and implement improvements to manufacturing systems, ensuring optimal resource utilization and throughput.
• Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives, from conception to completion.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to inform decision-making and measure performance against targets.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in industrial engineering and manufacturing to recommend innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles, statistical process control (SPC), and simulation tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Experience with CAD software and data analysis tools is essential.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.
