About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Industrial Engineering Specialist to join their operations team in Portsmouth . This role focuses on optimising production processes, improving layout efficiency, and implementing lean methodologies to enhance overall plant performance. You will be instrumental in driving key projects that aim to reduce operational costs, improve throughput, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing systems, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing production lines and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times.
• Design and implement optimal factory layouts and material flow systems.
• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives and Kaizen events to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for key processes.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new equipment and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation and operational integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in process mapping, simulation, and data analysis tools.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams.
