We're looking for an experienced Senior Insight Analyst to lead the delivery of high-quality customer, business and operational insight that supports strategic decision-making across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded analytics professional who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful business recommendations. You'll play a key role in helping leaders understand customer behaviours, identify trends and opportunities, improve services and drive performance through evidence-based decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll lead insight projects, develop analytical capability within the team and ensure data is transformed into actionable intelligence that delivers real business value.
The Role
As Senior Insight Analyst, you will be responsible for providing trusted analytics, customer insight and business intelligence that support both operational and strategic objectives. You'll lead the delivery of analytical projects while managing and developing members of the insight team, ensuring the organisation benefits from high-quality reporting, customer analysis, segmentation and predictive insight.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of customer insight, business intelligence and analytical projects across the organisation. Translate complex datasets into meaningful, actionable recommendations for business leaders. Manage, coach and develop analysts, providing leadership, direction and support. Drive a culture of evidence-based decision-making through high-quality insight and reporting. Deliver customer segmentation and behavioural analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Conduct detailed analysis of customer performance, service usage, satisfaction and operational data. Develop predictive analytics and modelling approaches to support proactive decision-making. Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges and deliver insight-led solutions. Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, presentations and executive summaries. Present complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Lead analytical investigations and recommend practical solutions that improve business outcomes. Monitor external market, economic and social trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities. Work collaboratively with research, data and operational teams to maximise the value of insight. What We're Looking For Essential Experience Significant experience within Insight, Customer Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Research environments. Proven experience leading analytical projects, workstreams or teams. Previous experience coaching, mentoring or managing analysts. Strong customer insight, segmentation and behavioural analysis experience. Advanced SQL skills with experience analysing large and complex datasets. Strong data visualisation and reporting experience, ideally using Power BI or similar tools. Ability to translate data into clear business recommendations and strategic actions. Experience influencing senior stakeholders through data-driven insight. Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Desirable Experience
- Power BI, SSRS, SSIS or equivalent BI tools.
- Predictive analytics, forecasting or statistical modelling techniques.
- Data Science methodologies.
- Customer experience, performance or service improvement analysis.
- Experience within housing, local government, utilities, financial services, retail or other customer-focused environments. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be an experienced Insight, Customer Analytics or Business Intelligence professional with a passion for using data to influence strategic decision-making and deliver measurable business outcomes. You will combine strong technical analytical expertise with excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to present complex findings in a clear, meaningful and commercially relevant way. You'll have a proven track record of:
- Delivering customer insight and segmentation projects.
- Managing or mentoring analytical teams.
- Influencing business decisions through data-driven recommendations.
- Translating complex information into practical business actions.
- Driving continuous improvement through insight and analytics.
