About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Insurance Claims Assessor to join their dedicated team in Leicester . In this critical role, you will be responsible for evaluating complex insurance claims, determining coverage, and negotiating fair settlements with policyholders and third parties. You will play a key part in ensuring our client maintains its reputation for fair and efficient claims handling, providing expert guidance to junior members of the team and contributing to the continuous improvement of claims processes within the Leicester branch. This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and assess complex insurance claims across various policy types, ensuring compliance with policy terms and legal regulations.
- Determine liability, calculate accurate settlement amounts, and negotiate fair outcomes with claimants and their representatives.
- Gather and review all relevant documentation, including police reports, medical records, and repair estimates.
- Provide clear and timely communication to all stakeholders regarding claim status, decisions, and next steps.
- Mentor and support junior claims assessors, offering guidance on case management and best practices.
- Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation.
Requirements
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as an Insurance Claims Assessor or in a similar claims handling role.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance policies , legal frameworks, and claims investigation techniques.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in insurance or claims management are highly desirable.
