About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Insurance Risk Manager to lead their risk management function from a fully remote position. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats to the business. This role is critical in ensuring the company's financial stability, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience. You will work closely with senior leadership and various departments to embed a strong risk-aware culture across the organization, championing best practices in risk management within a remote-first operational framework across Scotland .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's enterprise-wide risk management framework (ERM).
- Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks, including financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks.
- Design and oversee risk mitigation strategies, action plans, and control measures.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key exposures and mitigation progress.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Solvency II, FCA regulations) pertaining to risk management.
- Foster a strong risk management culture through training, communication, and collaboration with all levels of the organization.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in risk management, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Deep understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful ERM frameworks.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, ACII) are highly desirable.
