About the Role

Our client, a leading creative studio in the arts and entertainment sector , is seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Artist to join their team in Glasgow . This role is crucial for defining the mood, atmosphere, and visual appeal of our projects through masterful use of light and color. You will work closely with the art and technical teams to ensure that lighting enhances storytelling and immerses the audience. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic sensibility, a deep understanding of lighting principles, and the technical skills to implement sophisticated lighting solutions in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality lighting for 3D scenes, environments, and characters that enhances visual storytelling and emotional impact.
• Collaborate with directors and art directors to establish and maintain the desired look and mood for projects.
• Implement and optimize lighting solutions within game engines or rendering pipelines, ensuring performance and visual fidelity.
• Set up and manage lighting rigs and tools to streamline the lighting process.
• Provide feedback on environment art and level design to ensure optimal lighting integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting-related technical issues.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Lighting Artist in the games, animation, or VFX industry.
• A compelling portfolio demonstrating exceptional lighting and composition skills across various styles.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya).
• Strong understanding of lighting theory, color theory, and cinematography.
• Experience with rendering techniques , global illumination, and post-processing effects.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
