About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their advanced research and development team based in Oxford . This is an office-based role offering an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and machine learning projects. You will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining sophisticated machine learning models that solve complex business challenges and drive product innovation. The ideal candidate has a strong theoretical understanding of ML concepts coupled with practical experience in implementing and scaling ML solutions in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, train, and deploy production-grade machine learning models and algorithms.
- Develop and maintain robust ML pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate ML models into existing products and services.
- Monitor model performance in production, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements or retraining as needed.
- Research and evaluate new ML techniques, tools, and frameworks to enhance capabilities.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of ML infrastructure and platforms.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or a similar role.
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with ML libraries such as scikit-learn , TensorFlow , or PyTorch .
- Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google AI Platform) and MLOps principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-oriented environment.
