About the Role
Our client, a pioneering AI research lab based in Oxford , is seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to drive the development and deployment of advanced AI models. You will work on challenging problems at the intersection of research and product, contributing to the creation of state-of-the-art machine learning systems. This role involves collaborating with leading researchers and engineers, building robust ML pipelines, and deploying models into production environments. The ideal candidate has a strong theoretical foundation in machine learning and extensive practical experience in building and scaling ML solutions. You will be instrumental in advancing our client's AI capabilities and delivering impactful innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms for various applications.
- Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines for data processing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with research scientists to translate novel research into practical, production-ready ML solutions.
- Optimize model performance, efficiency, and scalability for deployment in cloud-based environments.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code in languages such as Python.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence research.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical vision of the ML team.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning Engineering or a related role.
- Strong expertise in Python and popular ML libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras).
- Proven experience in developing and deploying ML models into production environments.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
