About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves overseeing the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing critical insights to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with department heads to ensure financial objectives are met and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting and analysis. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, variance reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide financial guidance and support to operational departments, assisting with business case development and investment appraisal.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, fostering their professional development.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in management accounting, financial planning, and analysis within a commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector is advantageous but not essential for this role.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
